One of the world’s most prestigious poker events, the Aussie Millions, is underway for 2016 at Melbourne’s Crown Casino.

Now in its 19th year, this year’s schedule features 24 events across 20 days with the AU$10,000 Main Event kicking off next Sunday 24 January.

However, much of the focus will be on the two Super High Roller events – the AU$100,000 Challenge starting 24 January and the AU$250,000 Challenge beginning 31 January – with Phil Ivey looking to win the AU$250,000 buy-in event for the fourth time in six years! Ivey’s previous three wins in 2012, 2014 and 2015 have netted him a hefty AU$7.2 million in prize money with the 2014 event being the biggest so far with 30 starters.

A similar buy-in event, the inaugural US$200,000 WPT Triton Super High Roller Cali Cup, attracted an impressive field of 52 runners at WPT National Philippines last week.
