Sports Business Daily reported this week that the Los Angeles Rams will move their first home game of the 2018-19 season against the San Francisco 49ers to China as the popular football code looks to crack the lucrative Chinese market.
The NFL recently started playing games in London, with the Rams playing the New England Patriots at Wembley in 2012 and scheduled to face the New York Giants at Twickenham this October.
Another two games will be played in London in 2016/17 while the Houston Texans and Oakland Raiders are off to Mexico. However, this will be the first time a regular-season game has been played in China.
The NFL has refuted reports that the Rams-49ers game was confirmed but said they had been actively exploring opportunities.
