Chinese cinema calls hit movie terrible

Written by Ben Blaschke

A cinema in China’s Gansu Province has slammed recently released film From Vegas to Macau 3 for being “unethical” and “cheating people of their money.”

According to AsianPop News, the theatre issued an apology to moviegoers on its official Weibo page where it also criticized the actors Chow Yun Fat, Carina Lau and Andy Lau for choosing to star in a film with such a poor script!

“We cannot understand why Hong Kong films have deteriorated to this state,” the Weibo post begins before going on to discourage people from watching.

The cinema says it will show From Vegas to Macau 3 once a day only, preferring to fill its sessions by showing the likes of The Monkey King 2 and The Mermaid.

Despite the criticism, From Vegas to Macau 3 has been a hit since its release ahead of Chinese New Year, earning US$1.7 million in Hong Kong and US$64 million in China so far.
