Good Food Guide: Fa Da Vietnamese Snack Shop

Written by The Panda

If a local didn’t introduce you to this place, you would probably never enter. Because of its dilapidated look and the far from pleasing environment, it is one the locals favor rather than the tourists. The shop owner is Vietnamese and uses a traditional method for cooking. The most popular dishes include Raw Beef with Rice Vermicelli, Mixed Raw and Cooked Beef with Triangle Rice Noodles, Chả lụa with Cellophane Noodles, Lemongrass Chicken and Rice Vermicelli with Vietnamese Sauce.

The Mixed Raw and Cooked Beef with Triangle Rice Noodles is something we order every time we eat here. The thickness of the different elements layers the taste and the triangle rice noodles, like big pieces of Shahe fen, taste thin and slippery. The Vietnamese spring roll is a must-try – lettuce and mint leaves wrapped in a crispy fried spring roll with its own sour sauce. Very appetizing! The mung bean soup for dessert is also different. It is yellow, not green, because the owner has removed the mung bean shell, making it more slippery and tasty.
