Good Food Guide: Modern Thai Cuisine

Written by The Panda

Although this restaurant is in a busy tourist area, the prices are quite reasonable. Tom Yum Goong soup is a must when you enjoy a Thai meal so we ordered it with seafood. The sourness of the soup wasn’t prominent enough, but the degree of spice was okay – although those who like particularly hot food might think it could be slightly spicier. The great variety of seafood in the soup is worth mentioning, including prawns, clams, mussels, squid and salmon. It’s quite rare to find Tom Yum Goong soup with salmon in it. No wonder the soup is more fresh and sweet than other restaurants!

The Thai Style Baked Prawns with Vermicelli in Hotpot is also good. There are five prawns in it and they are big – the owner is definitely not mean with the ingredients. However, we found it slightly lacked of soy sauce flavor, so the flavor of vermicelli in the hotpot wasn’t strong enough. The Thai Style Fried Vegetable was incredible, however. It is a simple dish and the timing of the cooking was perfect. Although spicy, it wasn’t unbearable.
