Louis XIII Holdings Limited has announced that its Macau hotel will officially be called “The 13”. Due to open in the third quarter of 2016, “The 13” will be the most luxurious hotel ever built in Macau and one of the most prestigious in the world with each of its 236 rooms costing over US$7 million to build.

“As the business and the brand have developed, we felt that the name “The 13″ most accurately reflected our Macau hotel’s combination of Baroque inspiration and contemporary accents,” said Co-Chairman Stephen Hung. “Our brand represents a unique vision of a global luxury lifestyle based on strong bespoke traditions while embracing modern elements that enhance these traditions.

“13 is my lucky number and the new name along with the new logo fit perfectly with my vision. There is a hint of tradition while also suggesting a chic and fun edginess.”

“The 13” has also released the first images of the hotel, including the standard one bedroom villas which cover a floor space of around 2,000 square feet.
