Secrets of sports betting

WGM’s Best Weekend Bets: Fri 4 to Sun 6 Mar 2016

Written by Ben Blaschke

We start the weekend in the Middle East as cricket’s Asian Cup continues with Pakistan facing Sri Lanka. Although we rarely bet on Twenty20 cricket due to its unpredictable nature, there are some clear trends to observe with a fading Sri Lankan side. We successfully predicted Bangladesh would beat them during the week and a much stronger Pakistan should do the same.

Saturday sees another crucial round of the Premier League and although Manchester City has now lost three league games in a row they should be far too strong at home against an awful Aston Villa side. On class alone we expect a comfortable win.

We’re again breaking our own rules by betting on the opening round of the National Rugby League (NRL) in Australia but the Melbourne Storm must be seen as specials against the St George Illawarra Dragons. With their “big three” of Billy Slater, Cameron Smith and Cooper Cronk all fit and an impressive record of winning their first game every year since 2002, it’s hard to see them being beaten.

WEEKEND BETS
Fri T20 Cricket Pakistan v Sri Lanka Pakistan WIN
Sat EPL Manchester City v Aston Villa Manchester City -1 goal
Sun NRL Melbourne Storm v St George Illawarra Dragons Melbourne Storm WIN
