Good Food Guide: Red Flame Steak House

If you have been to Taiwan, you should be familiar with restaurants supplying steak meal sets. Lately a friend told us about a similar Taiwanese style steak restaurant that had recently opened in Macau so a few of us headed along. Its decoration is mainly black with wood features and the owner has made smart use of wire netting in the fitting out which gives it a unique look.

All the main dishes on the menu are meal sets – very Taiwanese in style. Besides steak they also provide pork chop, lamb chop, chicken and seafood meal sets. We ordered the 12-ounce rib eye fillet and tenderloin steak but thought the tenderloin steak was better than the rib eye fillet. Their temperature control is worthy of praise. We ordered our steak medium and when the steak and hot plate were served, the texture was just right and the juice of the tenderloin steak preserved. However the meat flavor wasn’t strong enough so hopefully the owner can improve this aspect. If you go as a big group they also have a 48-ounce XXXL steak … but remember to make a booking!
