Good Food Guide: Spark Barbecue Restaurant

Written by The Panda

In cold weather, besides hot pot, barbecue is of course the best option. When I went to Spark Barbecue Restaurant with friends, I was first attracted by the colorful discus fish in the fish tank outside of the door – although the affordable prices on the menu also impressed me!

Besides à la carte barbecue, platters and combos there is also sashimi, rice, noodles, snacks and so on. After ordering, the waiter started to prepare barbecue utensils and brought over a big piece of pink salt crystal which he placed on the barbecue pit. In order to keep the meat fresh, they don’t use salt to marinate it but put the meat on the salt crystal instead, which dissolves with heat so the salt attaches to the surface of the meat. I strongly recommend the Angus rib eye. The ingredients are fresh and the meat is very tender.

If you don’t like beef, you can try black pig pork belly which is very tasty and fat but not greasy. I’m addicted to it even though I normally don’t enjoy fatty meat. There are many varieties of seafood too and they regularly launch promotions. I ordered mini geoduck which was fresh and pleasant, well worth a try. Just remember to call and make reservations in advance!
