8½ Otto e Mezzo Bombana opens at Galaxy II

Written by Ben Blaschke

Macau is finally home to a new three star Michelin restaurant with 8½ Otto e Mezzo Bombana officially opening its doors for business at Galaxy Phase II over the weekend.

The vision of veteran Chef Umberto Bombana, who first opened his Hong Kong restaurant in 2010, 8½ Otto e Mezzo Bombana is one of the most acclaimed Italian restaurants in the world and the only one outside Italy to have been awarded three Michelin stars.

Renowned for taking traditional Italian ingredients and giving them a modern, exciting twist, among 8½ Otto e Mezzo Bombana’s most extravagant offerings is a seven course “white truffle menu” which features the highly-prized truffles from Alba in the Italian region of Piedmont. A two course business lunch is also available starting from MOP$378.

The restaurant can seat around 50 guests in the main dining room while there are two private rooms for up to 10 people each and a bar and lounge area for pre or post dinner drinks.

8½ Otto e Mezzo Bombana becomes one of only three Macau restaurants to boast three Michelin stars alongside Robuchon au Dôme and The 8 – both located at Grand Lisboa.
